ARRIVAL IN ANKARA
Our trip begins in Ankara, the second most important city in Turkey. Upon arrival, we will meet our tour guide and get transferred to our hotel. After taking some rest, we will visit Ataturk’s Mausoleum (Turkish: Anitkabir), the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the leader, founder, and the first President of the Republic of Turkey. Next, is the Ulus District, a touristic place where is located in the center of the oldest part of capital. It contains a lot of historic attractions.
ANKARA TO KONYA
Today, we will hit the road to Konya (270 km). The first place we will visit is the city’s primary tourist attraction, the turquoise-domed tomb called Mevlana Museum. Every Saturday, there are Whirling Dervish spiritual performances at Rumi’s Cultural Centre. Next, we will be amused by the artifacts collection depicted at Konya Archaeological Museum. We will also discover the Konya Butterfly Botanical Garden, where a great diversity of butterflies and tropical plants are gathered together.
KONYA TO KAPADOKYA
Today, we will have a journey to Kapadokya (270 km). It is a top-rated tourist destination because of its unique geological, cultural, and historical attractions. En route, we will stop by the city of Aksaray to visit Aksaray Grand Mosque (Turkish: Karamanoğlu Camii) in the city center. Then, we will continue our road to Kapadokya.
KAPADOKYA
One of the most amazing experiences we could have is the Balloon Ride (price not included in the package) in Kapadokya. We must be present before sunrise to enjoy the beauties of a unique landscape with magnificent valleys, volcanic rock formations, spectacular pigeon houses, and breathtaking views when the sun is rising on the horizon. In the afternoon, we will visit the Göreme Open-Air Museum, which contains the remains of many churches carved into the famous Kapadokya rocks as well as many excellent frescoes that can be seen when exploring the sites.
KAPADOKYA TO ISTANBUL
Today, we will be transferred to Nevşehir Airport to take our flight to İstanbul. After arrival, we will be transferred to our hotel. Later and after a short rest, we will visit some of the city’s most famous monuments. We will head to Galata Tower, an old Genoese tower in the Galata part of the Beyoğlu district, which is another attraction to see.
ISTANBUL
Today, we will visit Topkapi Palace (Turkish: Topkapı Sarayı), a notable highlight in İstanbul that served as the Ottoman Empire’s administrative building for nearly 400 years. Next, we will visit Hagia Sophia Mosque (Turkish: Ayasofya Camii), which is a sacred landmark for Muslims and Christians. Blue Mosque (Turkish: Sultan Ahmet Camii) is a majestic place of worship with six exquisite minarets and a series of domes that show the difference between traditional and contemporary Turkish architecture. In the past, chariot races were held in the Hippodrome. We will also visit the Grand Bazaar (Turkish:Kapalı Çarşı), a traditional roofed Turkish market that is one of the oldest and longest markets in the world.
LEAVING TURKEY
We will be transferred to İstanbul Airport to fly back home.
